I am constantly trying to find ways to increase my productivity. Most specifically I have found how important it is to define the term productivity. Long term productivity is much different than short term and often the actions taken to increase short term productivity have no or in some cases a negative effect.
So for my productivity Stack: 1. OmniFocus 2. Google Calendar, Mail & Drive 3. Promodoro for creative/writing work where the output could be always improved. 4. Moleskin notebook for all notes.
Long term focus At the end of a month I look back at the month and write out my biggest accomplishments. I then go back though my task list from the month and green highlight all the tasks that where 100% necessary for me to complete to accomplish those things. I then go back through and highlight any tasks that I put in more effort than was required or where my effort was in vein. This sometimes is really depressing so I tend to not do this during the day or on Friday.
This type of review is extremely helpful in making myself aware of what actions/tasks actually had a impact and which ones did not. This cycle allows me to continuously improve my decision making process and focus.
